Chronicles of a new brand that was born out of a professionally challenging period of time, and how you can do it too – with a little faith, trust and tequila (pixie dust optional).
“A strong brand is all about innovating, playing, changing, and having fun in the process. It’s about not getting distraught or heartbroken when things don’t work out. It’s knowing there are other, even better fish right around the corner.”
Have you been feeling like you need a little sprinkle of magic fairy dust on your business strategy or professional life? Hey friend, I’ve been there. It all started when I had this gut feeling to bid adieu to my first company, LBMG Marketing, for a corporate endeavor. And, it was a big leap of faith really, because I didn’t know whether or not it was going to work out. But in my CORE I knew I had to take the risk. Ask anyone who knows me… big risk taker right here!
It started fine and dandy, and then one day just a few weeks into this role, I heard the words you NEVER, like ever, want to hear,
“Today will be your last day at this company.”
There were no reasons other than to blame it all on COVID-19. Go figure. I was left feeling shocked and pushed to have to make a life-changing switch. But for some reason, something inside of me left me feeling determined AF and more excited than ever before. I knew it was time to pivot once again and finally share all my tips, tricks, and trade secrets with those who deserve it most – entrepreneurs just like me.
LBMG, the brand before my corporate endeavor, was my baby. I birthed that business and it grew along with me and my knowledge of the field. I am proud of that brand and all of its transitions over the years. It became known for being a business that continued to evolve, grow, and expand over time. Until eventually, it needed a whole new look, feel and vibe altogether – especially after a very public ‘merger’ between it and the corporate gig.
And so, Brand Good Time was born.
You see, I’ve learned that once you’ve built a strong foundation, it’s always important to continue moving forward, pivoting, and staying up to date with the times and with your target audience. That is, quite literally, 75% of what makes a business thrive. The other 25%, is not being afraid to actually make those changes and take action.
Sometimes we all need that push. That BFF who cheers you on and reminds you that anything is possible. Because really, it is. And that is why I am here and the core of Brand Good Time.
It’s about making marketing actually fun.
Now, this brand is a little different than the rest. I really bet you’ll never find a brand like me…because it’s personal. It’s still business, but it’s personal too. What I mean by that is personal brands bring a whole lot more to the table. They can never be replicated because it’s all about making meaningful connections – that’s why personal brands are SO important for service-based businesses.
When you create, develop and have a personal brand you are able to develop meaningful, authentic relationships with your audience. What happens is, people will start to come to you because they really want to work with YOU. Yes, YOU. It’s because you add your own twist and spice to the mix (mine is a tequila shot and a side of lime) and over time, because of this, YOU will become more trusted and the person to go to for your types of services and offerings. Personal brands are what humanize the service-based industry.
Hey entrepreneur, guess what: it’s ok to outsource.
Now, another thing that makes this brand so special to the core, is not only what it represents but it’s also the team that stands behind it. With this brand, I actually decided to OUTSOURCE my branding. You may be wondering ‘Lauren lol, why, your background is in design’ – but I have discovered that this is an amazing way to take your brand to a whole new level. It’s all about bouncing ideas off of fellow creatives because that can spark your imagination more than ever before.
My branding team, YA Write, helped to bring my vision to life, adding good vibes from my business name to my logo, into my brand guidelines and so much more. And that’s not all… my marketing wing women, Kyla Patton (marketing assistant) and Tori Belanger (virtual assistant) equipped the brand in a way where we had everything needed to launch sooner than I ever expected – not even kidding, in less than 6 weeks.
Brand Good Time was born out of THE biggest transition in my life. It was created to help personal brands and small businesses define and market their purpose, all while promoting growth, increasing revenue, and having way too much fun in the process.
